Second one interesting, but not as interesting s the first.

The blocks are pretty insignificant, but who needs attractive blocks when the sashing is out of teh ordinary?

I started playing with the block in the side borders in the Serendipity feature of Electric Quilt … EQ did the rest!

Here are the after coffee results of yesterday’s play time … the first one for today has some corner details added to the second version from yesterday.

In todays second version the corner detail and part of the side detail has disappeared.

In the final design the corner detail has appeared again, and I rather like the results!

I got up a bit early this morning, and started playing with some pieced blocks in my personal block library. Made a few modifications to one of the blocks, which led to several more modifications. Amazing what I can do while waiting for the first coffee to kick in!

I even managed to add a second colouring of the block!

I am about to go and make a second coffee to go with breakfast … I wonder what I can do then!

The same block as yesterday, but on point, with sashing … so I could add sashing squares.

… in three steps

But wait … there’s more.

I thought I would play a little longer to see what would happen, and liked what I found enough to share the results.

I like all of the last three … no one favourite today!

A one block design, with bits and pieces ignored or recoloured to create different designs.

I like the gentle curves in the centre of the block.

This is a result of trying to draw a block to use instead of sashing an on point applique quilt. It is OK, but not what I was trying to do, so have abandoned the attempt. I am showing you the two quilts I designed and will keep the block in my library, more as a curiosity than a because does what I wanted to do.

The reason it doesn’t appeal to me is that where the blocks meet at the corners looks a bit awkward.
